ABOUT ME

Clara Gharibo, BFA Dance, BEd.

I am a mover. I love to connect to others, myself and nature through movement. I am a choreographer, dancer and dance educator. It brings me so much joy to share my passion for dance and embodied movement with people of all ages. With each person I have the pleasure to work with, I find I am not only the teacher but a student as well. I love what I do and I can’t wait to share and grow with you.

I started CYouMove as a way to help people of all ages connect to their body through dance and creative movement. I truly believe that everyone can express themselves through movement and needs to move in one way or another- for your mental, physical and spiritual health. If dance and/or creative movement speaks to you and you are wanting to give it a try, you have come to the right place! Maybe the idea of starting something new in a group setting is pushing you away from ever giving it a try. I offer private lessons designed to help you reach your movement goals. A lot of my movement work is inspired by the way children move. I have been working with children for over 10 years and I am a firm believer that they are the best teachers in reminding adults how to play, be silly and MOVE in ways that feel amazing for their bodies. We all moved this way at one point in our lives and may have lost it somewhere along the way. Let me help you deepen your connection to yourself and others through dance. Check out my contact information down below and let’s get started!

Moving to Connect

Health, Movement, Wellbeing

My family is everything to me. I believe in movement as a way to strengthen our bond- movement in whatever form that may be- through yoga, dancing, cooking, gardening, exploring both new and old hiking trails, or sharing in some good eats. My husband and I love to farm and volunteer at a local organic vegetable farm. This is our second season getting our hands dirty with our own vegetable garden. Harvesting, planting, digging and weeding are some of the ways we choose to move our bodies and work with nature to create something beautiful (in this case, delicious and nutritious veggies). We firmly believe that moving in this way, working with nature is how human bodies were designed to move. If gardening or farming is not something that interests you, I encourage you to find other ways to get out, connect and move with nature. Going for walks, yoga in the park, dancing in the rain, journaling outside...endless possibilities. Start with something small and it will soon be something you and your family will crave. I practice yoga and regular stretching to challenge my body, and help maintain my active lifestyle. Yoga and dance are beautiful ways I choose to connect with other people, nature and my body.
